Leona Lewis’s album ‘Spirit’ has secured her a place in British Chart History by becoming the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK. The 2006 X-Factor champion managed to sell 375,872 copies of ‘Spirit’ during its first week of release. The album achieved this despite stiff competition from other major releases including, the Spice Girls’ ‘Greatest Hits’ compilation and a highly anticipated 34th album from Celine Dion. There seems to be no stopping the 22 year old Leona Lewis who only last year broke all download records when her debut single, ‘A Moment Like This’, was downloaded 50,000 times in its first half hour of release.
