‘Fight For This Love’ the debut solo single for Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole has blasted straight to the top of this week’s UK Single’s Chart.
The record managed to notch up sales of more than 290,000 in its first week of release, making it the fastest-selling single of the year so far.
The single was hotly tipped to top this week’s chart after Cheryl Cole gave a top-notch performance of the song on last week’s episode of the X-Factor. The show was viewed by almost 13 million viewers.
Fight For This Love was written by Andre Merritt, Steve Kipner and Wayne Wilkins, who have previously written material for other artists such as Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.
Cheryl Cole will release her debut solo album on Monday 26th October.
