Pop Princess Kylie Minogue was honored by the British record industry at a gala ceremony in London on the 29th October. It turned out to be quite a family event for Kylie, as well as having her parents Ron and Carol in attendance, her pop star sister, Dannii Minogue actually presented Kylie with the British Music Industry Trust’s Award, in recognition of her 20-year career.

Kylie Minogue is the first female to receive the award in its 16 year history. Past recipients include, Sir George Martin, Sir Elton John and Peter Gabriel. Kylie said of the prize: "To be recognised in this way, and to be the first woman to receive this honour makes me immensely proud." The ceremony took place in front of 1200 guests at London’s Grosvenor Hotel.
