Rumours have been rife this week that Madonna is on the verge of splitting from her husband of eight years, Guy Ritchie. The Sun added fuel to the fire by running a story on their website headlined, "Madge’s marriage ‘hangs by a thread.’"
Madonna was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last week, but her husband was not present to witness the occasion. He was also absent from Madonna’s UN fund-raising event last month.
Madonna, however, was quick to quench these rumours. Her spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, said in a statement on Monday, "I am delighted to confirm that Mr. and Mrs. Guy Ritchie remain happily married". Rosenberg went on to explain that Madonna and Guy have been living in separate countries recently due to work commitments. Madonna has been in the USA promoting her soon to be released album "Hard Candy", while Guy Ritchie has been in the UK completing his latest movie "RocknRolla". The Ritchies are now "joyfully back together at home in London. All is well and wonderful in the Ritchie household," said Rosenberg.
