UK POP CHART HISTORY - APRIL 1972
To this day I have no idea what caused 'The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards' rendition of Amazing Grace
to come storming into the top twenty from nowhere at number 3. The fact that a 'novelty' record by
a military marching band managed to make the top twenty at all is quite remarkable.
I never actually bought this record myself.
None of my friends bought it.
My parents never bought it.
My parent's friends didn't buy it.
My grandparents never bought it
The fact that this particular record turned out to be the biggest selling record of the year...
Now that truly is AMAZING?
