UK POP CHART HISTORY - JUNE 1972

At number 3 this week, Newcastle's Lindisfarne achieve their highest UK chart placing of the seventies with 'Lady Eleanor'. Eighteen years later, however, they'll manage to top it. In November 1990, with a little help from fellow Geordie and English soccer legend Paul (Gazza) Gascoigne, they'll get a number 2 placing with an awful reworking of the title track from their classic 1972 album 'Fog On The Tyne'.
