UK POP CHART HISTORY - AUGUST 1972
Alice Cooper and his band take over the top spot this week with their first successful UK single, 'School's Out'. After failing to chart with their previous two singles, School's Out' marks the beginning of a change in fortune for Alice Cooper. The album 'School's Out' will become their first to chart in the UK, peaking at number 4. The follow up single 'Elected' will also get to number 4 in the UK singles chart before the year is out.
