UK POP CHART HISTORY - DECEMBER 1972
Marc Bolan's T.Rex enjoy their fifth visit of the year to the top 20 with this week's highest new entry.
'Solid Gold Easy Action' enters this week's chart at number 8.
Just one place below them comes yet
another of those pesky Osmonds Clan records. This time it's the youngest sibling who gets in on the
act. At just nine years of age, Little Jimmy Osmond gets his first chart entry with 'Long Haired Lover From
Liverpool'.
We see the recent trend for successful sixties re-issues continue with Roy C Hammond's
soul classic, 'Shotgun Wedding', re-entering this week's top 20 at number 16. The final new entry at number 18
this week is 'Help Me Make It Through The Night'. This country standard composed by Kris Kristofferson
is given an inimitable re-working by Gladys Knight and the Pips, to give them their second UK top 20
hit record.
