UK POP CHART HISTORY - DECEMBER 1972
Yet another sixties re-issue gets into the top 20 this week. The Moody Blues achieve
the highest new entry at number 15 with a re-release of their 1967 hit, 'Nights In White Satin'.
Just one place below them, John and Yoko's 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)', makes its first of many
appearances in the UK's Christmas charts. The Four Tops make yet another visit to the UK top 20 at number
18, with one of their more forgettable hits.
Finally, at number 20, that awful marching band are back to destroy the seasonal standard, 'Little
Drummer Boy'. Thankfully, this will be their last visit (hopefully) to the UK top 20.
